The Spark: Why We Built PLG Kids
The idea for PLG Kids arose from a simple observation: children are spending hours staring passively at smartphones, watching reels or cartoons. This "passive consumption" does not teach communication, speech clarity, or critical thinking.
We set out to build an interactive, speech-first learning sandbox where children speak to the screen and receive real-time, patient evaluation. To guide them, we created Owlie - our AI learning buddy who encourages kids to speak, read, and think out loud.

1. Powered by the Goa Government Seed Fund
Developing on-device AI speech engines specifically tuned for children's voices requires significant research and development. We are incredibly grateful to have received the Goa Government Startup Seed Fund (under the Startup Goa scheme, Department of IT, Govt of Goa).
This government endorsement validated our technical approach and provided the resources to build a secure, privacy-first, on-device AI model that runs offline without needing internet access.
2. Showcased at IdeaBazz Season 2
Taking our vision to national screens, PLG Kids participated in IdeaBazz Season 2 - one of India's leading startup pitching stages. On this national platform, we demonstrated our visual 3D science lessons, interactive math stories, and spelling bee prep engines to leading industry veterans and investors. The feedback we received solidified our market placement as the premium learning app for LKG, UKG, and early primary school children.
3. Presenting at the India AI Summit under DivvyUpAndGrow
Participating in the prestigious India AI Summit under our parent brand, DivvyUpAndGrow, was a major milestone. At the summit, we demonstrated how our on-device speech verification engine runs 100% locally on standard phones and tablets. We showed other tech leaders that educational apps can be highly intelligent and adaptive while strictly respecting child data privacy (COPPA and India's DPDP Act compliant).

The Class Helper App (For Teachers)
Primary and preschool teachers are often overwhelmed with large classrooms, making individual reading and spelling checks difficult. PLG Kids serves as a virtual class helper app. Teachers can set spelling bee drills, LKG pre-math lessons, or UKG storytelling homework on the app, allowing kids to practice speaking and reading aloud in school labs or at home.
Parent Understanding & Analytics (For Families)
Most children's apps are black boxes - parents hand over the device and have no idea what their child learned. PLG Kids features a secure Parent Center. Parents receive detailed speech metrics, including:
- Mastered letter sounds maps.
- Weekly vocabulary growth metrics.
- Blending progress charts.
This helps parents understand exactly where their child excels and where they need extra reading practice.
